And so we are on the train that takes us back to Graz after our adventurous trip to Stockholm and Piteå.

What we will remember for sure is the friendliness and helpfulness of the people there. A busdriver who dropped us off directly at Strömbackaskolan though it wasn’t on his route, nice talk with many people who were interested in where we came from and what we did here, helpful info at the Arlanda express without having to ask. And of course, foremost the very hearty welcome and hospitality of our hosts in Piteå.

So, we deeply enjoyed the contrast of the city and the countryside – Stockholm and Piteå, a real winter here and there. More so in Piteå and Jokkmokk, where herds of reindeer licked the salt from the street, quite oblivious of our bus looking for a way to pass through. As we have bicycles to go from place to place, snowmobiles are part of nearly everybody’s household there.

Of course, let’s not forget that cultural exchange also includes tasteful chokladbollar, damsügeren, köttbullar and moose tacos at Jennie’s. Tack, god morgon and god kväll – a bit Swedish we have learned.

Also to mention is our students’ reel competition in Stockholm, quite creative really. So don’t forget to watch the funniest reel, the best @hostel reel and the most Stockholm reel and meme and the reel with all of us!!!

„Die Austauschschüler waren alle sehr freundlich und sie  haben sich gut um uns gekümmert. Mir hat das Volleyball spielen in deren Schule sehr gut gefallen. Mein Highlight war der Spieleabend in Sam‘s Haus.“  (Olivia)

„Das ABBA Museum war sehr interessant und hat mir am besten in Stockholm gefallen. Im Museum hat mich das Hologramm sehr fasziniert. Meine Gastfamilie in Piteå war sehr freundlich und es war lustig mit den Schweden Zeit zu verbringen.“ (Valentina)

Der Nachtzug nach Luleå führte uns sowohl vorbei an unbekannten Gebieten, als auch an den individuellen Grenzen unserer Zimmergenossen  (Emma&Sophie)

Vali und ich fanden Schweden sehr sehr schön und lustig. Es war aber wirklich kalt und in Jokkmokk haben wir ein bisschen gefroren.

Unser Highlight von Schweden war die E-Scooter Tour im Regen an Edina’s Geburtstag und der Tacoabend mit allen Gastschüler:innen. ( Lilly & Julia )

Ich war überrascht, wie nett und gastfreundlich die Leute in Schweden waren und wir  haben unerwartet viel unternommen. Es war ein sehr interessantes Erlebnis und ich würde jederzeit an etwas Ähnlichem nochmal teilnehmen. (Jakob)
